Villa Lobos Reposado tequila from Carlos Camarena, the mind behind other favourites like Tapatio and Ocho Tequila. The Villa Lobos range spend at least 6 months resting in tanks before being aged in oak, a process that imparts a silky quality to the tequila, so says Camarena. The Reposado is treated to a maturation of 11 months in oak before it is bottled.Chestnuts and toasted pumpkin seeds with lime zest. Smouldering sawdust, popcorn, chilli and huge wafts of vanilla. Creamy, buttery custard pastry, banana milkshake, hazelnuts. Gentle pepper prickle, suggestions of sweet pickle brine and lingering vanilla on the finish.
