If you didn’t know before, a Heather Ale is a traditional Scottish Ale that dates back some 4000 years. The Heather flowers adds a very light bitterness to the beer and a depth to the flavour different from a hops and malt style ale. The Saltspring Heather has a mild honey flavour and a touch of floral notes.
